Earlier this month, Consumer Affairs Victoria launched a revolutionary new smartphone app to help renters across the state. The application is available for iPhone and Android and downloadable free in the app store

The app allows renters to:

  • Send template emails on issues such as repairs and ending the lease, including the ability to send photos
  • Get information on their rights and responsibilities
  • Calculate how much a week’s rent is per fortnight, calendar month, six-monthly and yearly
  • Budget for their move using a moving-in cost calculator.

The app was launched earlier this month in Melbourne’s Federation Square and is set to be a revolutionary milestone for tenants across Victoria.
