Her heart was set on attending the famous Inchbald School of design in London but instead was lured into the exciting world of travel. For nearly three decades Jane travelled the world, opening up exotic and adventurous destinations; met fascinating people from Botswana to Bavaria to Highland Tribesmen of Papua New Guinea; experienced the very best and the very worst hotels; lived in the UK, Canada, the USA, New Zealand and of course Australia.
No stranger to buying, selling, negotiating, relocating and decorating, it was only a matter of time until Jane was lured into the real estate industry in 2003. A few years on Jane bought and managed her own hotel. ‘’It was a very run down affair’’ she recalls, but she threw herself into a refurbishment program, rebranded and relaunched. ‘’It was a gratifying and satisfying experience and I made lifelong friends from all over the world’’. But Real Estate was drawing her back and the prospect of establishing the changingplaces brand in NSW was too good an opportunity to resist. After a slight diversion appearing as one of 12 candidates on the first Australian series of the business reality TV show ‘’The Apprentice’’, it was all systems go launching changingplaces in Sydney.Leon Theofanous
